I grew up in the north of East Germany, surrounded by many lakes and forests and close to the Baltic shore. Naturally, I love being around water and nature in general.

Since I have moved to the US, I have traveled extensively within this fascinating country and many places around the world and consider myself fortunate to be able to meet the many people, explore their cultures and countries on this beautiful planet.

In my free time, I love listening to music and never stop singing, constantly take photos or am out in my kayak, on bike or on foot.

I am also fiercely competitive, having played many sports and some of them on state level in high school (European handball) or national level in college back in Germany (judo) and tennis (in the US). When it comes to international competitions, I still root for Germany. That mother land connection never gets lost.

Another love of mine are all animals. I grew up around dogs and cats and have two cats of my own. I also volunteer at a local dog adoption agency with one of my sons.
I am fortunate enough to have been on safaris in Africa, stalked the majestic tigers in India from the back of an elephant and watched a mother grizzly bear take care of her cubs in Alaska.

Life around us is precious and beautiful and I am enjoying it to the fullest.
